i feel like i owe u a couple reviews...

so here we go.
nice ambient/dark aura beginning. The clicks and the squeaks make me antipate the beat.
then this awesome well put together chill beat breaks in.
the electrionic beep sounds couple have more teble, but still, great feel.
You brought in a euro trance/industrial effect somewhere...that would be really nice if it was following a particular order, you know? like if it was follow set notes instead of just playing one.
after the acid break, and the weird(but in a good way) voices play, then it breaks into a 4/4 beat. aw yeah, thats just what i needed.
im senseing an electronic screeching pad in the backround......its really nice...dont get me wrong, and it adds a great feel, but maybe something mroe...i dunno. maybe some soft strings when it hits the end?
wow man....this song loops PERFECTLY! no glitches! im....amazed.
that is quite the feat. i could never do that...

great work man!
you will always pwn me

Thanks! - I wish I could remember what the voice says... ha! it's something fairly twisted - I forget what I came up with but if you know anyone who speaks french they may be able to translate it :D

BTW - on the voice - I translated some english into French via babelfish, cut the result and pasted it into the AT&T tts engine awesome results - check here - http://www.research.att.com/projects/tts/demo.html

Saved the results - brought it into SoundForge and started playin around with it...

I've found that site to be useful for generating little bits of speech if needed...

I actually really like the END of this track - the whole beginning just seems to drag on a little and it hits really late - right after the speech - I'm in the process of remixing this... But it may never be finished as I might abandon it in favor of more recent pursuits :)

As for the looping ... I use mainly AcidPro to build music - use that for a while and you'll get really good at making seamless loops to use in it! I'm surprised that there aren't any little skips or anything due to the flash player.

Thanks again!!

sup man.

very straight foreward song, nice upbeatness, then it hits into a nice soft chorus string which i think fits in very well with the filtered chorus lead instrment.
the open hi hat has to go tho. use a traditional open hi hat, dont use the hip hop vintage hat.
You need to make the break offs or build ups a little more defining, like add a few more instruments or something, y'now?

great work man, keep on puttin!

MattBlair responds:

Why thanks, it isn't finished though, more good sound to come, tell your friends!

woah.

hey bud, this is pretty damned good music...but its missing somethings that i cant describe to you...

i would like to remake this song, if you dont mind.

Ill make sure that i give all(or the majority) of the credit to you, of course.

if you are interested, can u plz e-mail the .flp file to jadanpaluck@msn.com.

i would be more than happy if u sent it.

ok im gonna keep this honest

good piano and drums build up in the begginging, but the kick could have been more solid, y'now? pump up the volume on the kick maxed out, then add a closed hi hat on the kick to give it a more solid sound.
The snare thing WAS nice but u used a bit too much...im not saying ditch the snare thing, but add more variety intead of useing the same patteren over and over again.

one thing that bugged me, was that im wating for this awesome break into chorus, and it frigin breaks into half time!
and what could have made that fuller(if it wasn't half time) was a big, sappy, buzzy brass.

Its ok if its half time, THEN it breaks into a full beat.
The half time is really annoying me...if u wanna hear a good example of a half time beat breaking into a 4/4 beat, check out my song Faded--_--.
Its got those elements in it.

other than those, great song.

Nicolas..

nice.....

i never knew ppl still drill_dl. it kinda got old with all the ppl using it and slicing it and....ugh.
you could have at least sliced it up man.
Not bad, could use work, keep it up.

aloneinthedark1 responds:

youve got some nice music, and yes this is sliced!?

im just kidding.

can u do me a big favor man, cause i love this riff, can u plz e-mail the .flp file of this
song so i can remake it?

ill make sure that u get full (or most) credit.

o and great work! be half-awake more often.

hmm? trance?

ha, it seems like you tried a little too hard to make this sound like trance man...
it would have been a lot easier to make this into a solid techno or DNB song.

w/e.

very bright, VERY over used notes(ive seen those notes used in almost every melody ive heard) the drums were nice and unique, but the break downs you have are too soft.
Just casue its a break down doesnt mean u still cant have the hard snare.
I see that you also tried the ride technique.
works well here.
One thing that bugs me....

you dont have a chorus instrument really. You never changed it. You kept it going through the whole song, u never gave me that impact that it was supposed to have, y'now, that feeling that u get when there is this little pint of a instrument playing, and then it hits into on big ass mutha fuckin lead?

well this song sure as hel doesnt have that.

now, im not trying to be a bitch, im just telling my opinion.
great work psy-bot.

theblackhawk--_--

hmmmmmmmm

you are taking the b0unc3 approach.
nice.

good melody, but i would have timed that a little different.
The Arp is nice, but after the string rise, i would have the open hi hat kick in and the snare.

I also would ayhve changed to signature note from c to a.

just to make it that much more propelling.

great song, but needs better build ups.

ah...thank you very much, seriously, i always thought there was something missing on this piece, im glad you can help, well i'll try and work on that in the future...any other critique you can dish out is great ^^

niiiiiiiiiiiice as always

you were basically the guy who taught me drum n bass to a large degree, so i think i owe you a review when ever u have a new song.
anyways, you still pwn me.
wow, how can you take a very ambvient square lead witha very soft pad, and add destructive overdrive to the drums and then put em together and it sounds good!!!
wow, that amazes that it didnt O D on ya.
Now, since im not too good as for melodies as excpet for when it comes to trance, i cant think of anything else but good job on that.
very unique.
now the drums were very nice and dirty and described the songs name very well 'Gentle rage'
buuuuuuuut
there is alwayas a but in a song
all of the drums were distorted. not one clean drum.
now, it could use some nice clean hats, or maybe you could have added some very fast snare stabs with a clean no distorted snare.
or so on and so forth.

but, i would have catagorized this as under industrial or drum n bass.
probably industrial.

great work, as always!

LJCoffee responds:

Thanks blackhawk! - I wouldn't go so far as to say I tought you about D&B.. I may have pointed you to a few breaks but that's about it... :)

There were a -few- clean drums but not very many...

Thanks for the review! I appreciate it! ...now if only I could get you to vote on it ... haha..

Thanks again! - I'll get over to return the favor as soon as I can!

hm

I like the drums, good bass riff, but i would make the bass picks a slap, and not a finger pick. It's more heavy-mettalish. If you konw what i mean. but good job all the same.

If you want some GOOD pointers and people to learn from, the bassist of Mudvayne is very good, go to www.mxtabs.net to find his riffs, i've tried to play them, i eventually got them, and i learned alot.

If your wondering this is blackhawks bro, he doesn't play bass, i do. lol.
