WOAH, im listening, and all of a sudden it changes key signature on me!
you could have made that change a little smoother....

But now i wanna try....

Great work!

tehmalakai responds:

you asked for a review....

youll get one hell of a long one.

nice notes choices, the pluck synth works well, and the chords could have been a little more solid if you know what i mean.
The kick was nice and bassy, but there wasn't any real Treble to kick it a 'click' sound. You know what im talkin about if u listen to my songs.
u need an open hi hat man.
The closed hat just doesnt cut it. i like the chords that u add in the chorus tho.
i see that you tried the $/4 time ride thingy, it works well, but the ride needs to be a little dirtier.
remember, if the ride sounds bad in your ears, just try it. it makes it that much fuller.

To make the song more fuller, id start the song with a nice solid trance arp.
Then you have the first chorus and drums fade in, and the drum roll that follows has a bunch of single kicks. Then you have a kick/tom roll, then have a boom, kick then a 4/4 main chorus kick in.
Then the chorus should be nice and fullfilling at the beat break in.

now, i have let it loop 3 or 4 times now, and i am convinced that i need to try and do something with this song.
now, if you willing, could you e-mail the .flp file of this to jadanpaluck@msn.com?
then ill post it on newgrounds as a remake..and ill give you full credit.

thanks!

im rootin 4 ya!

tehmalakai responds:

Wow, thanks allot for the long review! I'm glad you liked it, and am quite curious as to what you can do with it (I do really like your stuff), so i'll send the .flp right away. Thanks again!

you owe me a favor now...

ok its been while since i seen your work, even though i check on your pandoratranquil.tk all the time. i heard this somewhere b4...
nice, ambient/trance/dark wave sound, has some industrail in it, but thast only becuase of the acid sounds, bells and hats.
Weird choice on the gated synth(could have been better notes) but still, i thought i would never see the day that someone takes a fat lead and gates it, it works well. unique.

Something about the beat seems...empty if you know what i mean. It isnt as fulfilling as i thought it would be.
maybe a dirty ride pattern.
i dunno.

great work.

P.S.
Can u plz review my song burden of man--_-- and burden of man pt2 BETA?
i kinda need to know what ppl think of those.....

thanks man.

Pandora-Tranquil responds:

thx for the review brotha

nice

The bigging was pretty interesting.

You could work on the bass riff a little bit, Good arps. The drums need a little work. Basically a good song. You could try mixing the melody up a little bit.

lol that other guy was a little too full of himself, even tho he never meant it to come across that way....

MattBlair responds:

Hey thanks alot, glad you liked it, I may or may not work on it again :), tell your friends to listen!

Woah!

Dude how did you ever figure that piano melody out and make is sound good?! I bet you acaully play or know the theory of piano.

Good job, i could see this in like... The earlier versions of Phantasy star, With the 16-bit feeling to it.

MattBlair responds:

Oh, I was taught from Ian of course. The god of piano, thanks, I'm glad you like the song! Chekc out some other stuff of mine, as I check out ur perfect tracks as they are released!

lolz

Cpt-Nemo responds:

lol, I suppose it could be...

woah....

imagine a guy looking at his skin, then a women crawls out of his arm, and slowly turnes to him and looks at him in the eyes. she then turns and becons for him to follow. he follows, and instanely, they are walking on walls and things you couldnt walk on in real life and sutch.
then, she dissapears, and he falls. the room that he was walking in turns into a checkered floor face, and swallows him whole. he falls, gradually falling apart.
his body parts start getting smaller and smaller, until he is dust falling to the ground.
then when he hits the ground, he re orginizes and becomes a man again who is looking at his pale white skin...
and it all starts over again.

great music man. very mysterious.

Cpt-Nemo responds:

Thank you (and to everyone who reviewed before this).

Actually, the whole point of me writing this song was to give flash artists something that they could use as a source of inspiration for an animation. And as you can see, everyone sees something different, so the possibilities of what can be done with this piece are endless.

straight to it.....

nice!
the piano is very awaking, but soothing at the same time.
i would have a lot more respect for you if you actually played this. now for my question,

did u play this on a piano, or did you make it on a program. if u made it on a program, what program?

theblackhawk--_--

(i read that thread that you made on the BBS about you needing reviews and votes...well ima vote 5 for this and im itching for reviews too so maybe you could drop by and leave a review or 2)

Pyrostudios responds:

well....partly both i started makin it on the piano and i was half way done when i thought i could put it on NG! so i tried to record me playing it but the sound came out REALLY bad so i had to recompose it on the Mac program Garage band!
